Dr Edmore Munongo
Founding Co-Director
Current pursuant of PhD in Medical Sociology, holds an MBChB, MBA and MPhil and has more than 20 years of experience as a Public health practitioner with experience in program evaluations and reviews for UN agencies, multilateral agencies and implementing partners in the areas of SRHR, NCDs & Mental health, HIV, EPI and adolescent health.
Experience includes programme capacity assessment and monitoring for different programmes in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Malawi and Lesotho. In particular, Dr Edmore Munongo has experience in Zimbabwe public health delivery through evaluations of the HIV, TB and Malaria programs in Zimbabwe funded by the Global Fund. He has a wide experience in Maternal and child health through evaluations and technical expertise provided to the UNFPA and WHO. These evaluations included looking at fund implementation and assessment of funds flow. He has also participated in the Joint Review Mission which looks at the donor-supported healthcare services in Zimbabwe, including value for money (VFM). Has experience in NCDs, disability and Mental health as the technical lead in these areas for WHO/Zimbabwe from 2019-2021. Edmore has extensive evaluation experience of SRHR programs in the baseline, Mid Term and end term. Edmore has been the key technical expert for the Global Fund LFA in Zimbabwe since 2013 being a key epidemiologist for the Global Fund programme and ensuring deliverables align with the investments. He has carried out programme capacity assessment for GAVI in Zimbabwe and Lesotho. Has led the development o the Africa CDC NCD, injuries and mental health surveillance framework for AU member states and supported UNOPS to develop a proof of concept in NCDs. Has experience in strategic development. Supported Namibia to develop a costed community health worker strategy. Dr Munongo is a member of the IPPF International Medical Advisory Panel (IMAP) which is a body of medical scientists and experts in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and other relevant fields with a mandate to formulate and disseminate recommendations to IPPF and other interested parties regarding best practices in SRHR, based on the best available evidence.
